Coming
off the successes we had last year,
I have decided that our 2009 field show will be
an original one. This will allow us to return to the
highly competitive WBA circuit. Championships
are in Clovis this year and it's just too good
an opportunity for us to pass on taking advantage
of this being so close to home.
Our 2009 field show, The Lazarus Effect is written by Dan Bryan, the
music director at Grace Davis High School in Modesto.
Band Camp was a great success and I am very excited to see what the
season brings. We are not immune to the woes of the economy
and it will be a challenge, but all of us are committed to maintain the
high standards in every aspect of this program that we always have.
We are cutting back where we can and will not be doing pep band for away
games, we will not have bus transportation for jazz band or our winter
groups and we will not be going to Porterville this year for their
Veteran's Day activities.
You are encouraged to come to a rehearsal and witness the process, or
most definitely to come to a performance.
